This is a standard developped by a commitee composed by the more important card companies (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), known as PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Council) . Thes guides establish guidelines about processing, storage and/or transmission of cardholders data. PCI DSS makes a set of data security mechanisms and administrative and operative rules that govern this business. These regulations ensure the management of said data, with the means of preventing frauds involving credit or debit cards.
